Seawall Project #2 - Shawano Lake

As an effort to help offset the amount of fish habitat degradation there has been on both the Shawano Lake and its tributaries, the seawall projects were put into place. The goal of these projects are to remove failing seawalls, install riprap (rock) at a slope that will help combat ice shove and wave action, and implement a native planting behind it. The combination of these things will not only increase shoreline stabilization, but also provide a beautiful and natural lakefront to the landowners.

This particular landowner was excited to design the planting himself and choose the types of native plants he wanted. We were happy to accommodate his requests as they fell into the scope of the grant, including leaving a path between the planting for dock access. Some of the native species he chose were
