On Thursday, November 6th, WAMSCO received an international Leadership and Service Award for significant community education and outreach efforts in water resource management! We were recognized by the North American Lake Management Society (NALMS) at their annual international symposium, held this year in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The NALMS Leadership and Service Award honors individuals and organizations that demonstrate outstanding leadership, service, and the practical application of lake and reservoir management. Award selection is based on measurable community impact, level of involvement, sustainability of initiatives, and innovation in lake management. “One person can have that spark and reach so many people. Don’t ever think that you can’t make a huge difference.”President Shanda Hubertus said while accepting the NALMS award. This award follows statewide recognition earlier this year, when we received the Wisconsin Lakes Stewardship Award for excellence in public engagement at the Wisconsin Lakes and Rivers Convention.
